July Wrap Up

July!

In July I read 8 books, for a total of 2,742 pages and an average of 89 pages per day. I’m down compared to my stats for last month – I was a little bogged down during the Maze Runner series and Whiskey Tango Foxtrot took me 9 days to complete.

So far this year I’ve read 64 books and I’m now averaging 57 pages per day. If you’re wondering, I track my numbers on an Excel sheet (designed by a friend), as well as a little notebook. Looks something like this:

I’ve read:

The Maze Runner by James Dashner

The Scorch Trials by James Dashner

The Death Cure by James Dashner

Oliver and the Seawigs by Philip Reeve

Blood and Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klaus

In the Forest of Harm by Sallie Bissell

Marina by Carlos Ruiz Zafón
Notable quotes:
“…we only remember what never really happened.”
“I didn’t realize then that sooner or later the ocean of time brings back memories we submerged in it.”
“If people stopped to consider even a quarter of what they say, this world would be paradise.”
“If you don’t know where you’re going, you won’t get anywhere.”
“…Each one of us is only granted brief moments of happiness. Sometimes only days or weeks. Other times years. It all depends on our luck. The remembrance of such moments stays with us forever and becomes a land of memories which we vainly attempt to return during the rest of our existence.”
“We are fragile. We are creatures of passage. All that is left of us are our actions, the good or the evil we do to our fellow humans.”
“Truth is always safe from people.”

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot by David Shafer
Notable quote:
“I am definitely more than a body, but I believe I am less than a soul.”

Did you have any reading goals for July? Did you meet them? I do try to read at least 7 or 8 books a month, so I’m happy with my results for this month.

  1. Wow! Overall you’ve read 10+ books more than me this year! Great job! I try not to have too many set goals for my monthly reading because I don’t want to feel pressured and/or rush through books. I think 5 books a month is my average 🙂

    • Yeah I try to go for 7-8 but I realize I won’t always reach that. I don’t actually keep count during the month, so there’s no pressure. It’s not until the month is over that I count up how many books I’ve read and see if I met my goal.
