This is my weekly post where I highlight beautiful books from my collection. We all judge book covers to some extent – I created this feature to highlight and appreciate the art and design elements of some of the books I own. If covers didn’t matter, publishers wouldn’t put out so many wonderful editions!
This is the sequel to City of Dreaming books (one of my favorite and most underrated book) by Walter Moers (visiting his site has me mad that more of his works aren’t translated to English because he has other novels I’d like to read!) and translated by John Brownjohn. As usual, Moers fantastically illustrates his own work. Whoever says books for adults don’t need to be illustrated hasn’t read any of Moers’s works. They’re so wonderful and imaginative! This was published back in 2012 (I’m dying for the third book, Castle of Dreaming Books, which was rumored to be in progress as of 2015, but isn’t finished and would need to be translated) by Overlook Press, ISBN: 9781468301267.
(please excuse the reflection of my stupid head)
