Judging A Book By Its Cover: A Hero for WondLa

This is my weekly post where I highlight beautiful books from my collection. We all judge book covers to some extent – I created this feature to highlight and appreciate the art and design elements of some of the books I own. If covers didn’t matter, publishers wouldn’t put out so many wonderful editions!

Dang – I posted about the first book in this series four years ago! At least I actually read The Search for WondLa. Sadly the rest of the series remains untouched. If you know me at all, you won’t be surprised to find I bought this book because it’s middle-grade and illustrated. The first book didn’t disappoint – I’m a jerk for waiting so long to read the others! I’m even more of a jerk because it will probably still be a while before I read them. I am sad the cover design for the second and third book went in a different direction, but oh well.

This series was written and illustrated by Tony DiTerlizzi, and A Hero for WondLa was published by Simon & Schuster in 2012, ISBN: 9781416983125. Keep your eyes peeled for a post on the last book!
