This is my weekly post where I highlight beautiful books from my collection. We all judge book covers to some extent (don’t lie, you totally do!) I created this feature to showcase and admire the art and design elements of some of the books I own. If covers didn’t matter, publishers wouldn’t make so many wonderful editions!
The moment I spotted this edition on someone’s Instagram, I knew I need it. I mean, LOOK AT IT. LOOOOK AT ITTTTTT.
Ahem.
I had to order this off Amazon UK and it was totally worth the wait. I wouldn’t dare read this copy because I’m insane I want to keep it pristine, but I think it’s is a nice, portable copy for those of you looking for a stylish travel edition. Beware though, it’s abridged!
I’m not sure how much they edit when abridging books because I try not to read abridged versions. But just something to be aware of if you were looking for the original text.
This edition was published in 2019 by Penguin with cover illustration by Hülya Özdemir, ISBN: 9780241374887.
Are we sure this book is P&P? The cover doesn’t remind me of the story at all!

Haha yeah it’s certainly unlike any variant I’ve seen. It’s really refreshing, actually! I wish they’d do the whole set.

Man you always find the most stunning editions of P&P. You are racking up quite a collection! I should have you on the look out for pretty editions of Jane Eyre for me 🙂

I see cool Eyre editions all the time! My brain is deff triggered by the “Jane” and then I sadly remember that I didn’t enjoy that book. I wanted to, but it just wasn’t the classic for me. But there are definitely some great newer ones I see often. Plus I’ve come across fancy older ones too.

I love this edition! How ‘abridged’ is it? 😦

You know, I’m not sure. I’ve never read an abridged edition (cuz I don’t see the point). Idk what they determine is worthy of cutting! I’ve read P&P many times, but perhaps I should read this to see if I can tell what was cut…
