Judging A Book

Judging A Book By Its Cover: Castle Hangnail

This is my weekly post where I highlight beautiful books from my collection. We all judge book covers to some extent (don’t lie, you totally do!) I created this feature to showcase and admire the art and design elements of some of the books I own. If covers didn’t matter, publishers wouldn’t make so many wonderful editions!

This is a middle-grade book by Ursula Vernon. I forget where I bought it, but I was definitely drawn to the odd title and spoopy vibes.

The cover art is credited to Ursula and I’m assuming the interior art is hers as well, since it seems to be in the same style. Cover design by Jennifer Kelly, published by Puffin in 2016, ISBN: 9780147512734.

Isn’t there a Minion from Despicable Me named Kevin? I hope that’s who this book is dedicated to.
