Judging A Book

Judging A Book By Its Cover: King of Scars

This is my weekly post where I highlight beautiful books from my collection. We all judge book covers to some extent (don’t lie, you totally do!) I created this feature to showcase and admire the art and design elements of some of the books I own. If covers didn’t matter, publishers wouldn’t make so many wonderful editions!

You can maybe tell from the first photo, but I was going to post the Grisha Trilogy and King of Scars, but then I decided that’s way too many photos to edit at once and probably more than any of y’all want to see in one sitting.

So today we just have King of Scars! Isn’t it beautiful!? I just friggen love ALL THE DETAILS in this book. All hardcovers should be this gorgeous. Actually, all paperbacks should be too! Let’s put more thought into the design of books, PLEASE!

It was published in 2019 by Imprint, with jacket illustration by Billelis, jacket design by Ellen Duda, and a map by Sveta Dorosheva, ISBN: 9781250142283.
