Judging A Book

Judging A Book By Its Cover: The Lab and The Black Book of Secrets

This is my weekly post where I highlight beautiful books from my collection. We all judge book covers to some extent (don’t lie, you totally do!) I created this feature to showcase and admire the art and design elements of some of the books I own. If covers didn’t matter, publishers wouldn’t make so many wonderful editions!

Today I’m showing you two of my more recent acquisitions that came from the sale shelf from a local library.

The Lab by Jack Heath has jacket art by Kako and jacket design by Christopher Stengel. It was published in 2008 by Scholastic, ISBN: 9780545068604.

The Black Book of Secrets by F.E. Higgins has cover illustrations by Greg Ruth, cover design by Rich Deas, and book design by Susan Walsh. It was published in 2007 by Feiwel and Friends, ISBN: 9780312368449.

“Not for me, not for you, but for us” – I really like that!
