This is my weekly post where I highlight beautiful books from my collection. We all judge book covers to some extent (don’t lie, you totally do!) I created this feature to showcase and admire the art and design elements of some of the books I own. If covers didn’t matter, publishers wouldn’t make so many wonderful editions!
I just received this book as an early birthday present from one of my sisters and it came at a perfect time. As one of the birds in this book says, the world is a shitbarge (at least for right now), and a good dose of humor is much needed in my life.
Also, you might notice that today is Monday and not Friday (or, if you haven’t noticed, here’s your update). I’m trying to get back into the swing of regular posting, but time is just a construct, so whatever. Even as someone who is still working (too much), I often lose track of what day it is. I figure it doesn’t really matter when I post anymore.
This delightful book is by Aaron Reynolds, with illustrations originally by John James Audubon, and published in 2019 by Ten Speed Press, ISBN: 9781984856289.
You can tell which ones are my favorites because I didn’t want to move my tabs just for the sake of photos. I especially relate to the generated eagle.
