[·_·[] This really is the year of the DNF for me. 4 months, 4 books I've abandoned. I gave this one the best chance of the group so far, but it just wasn't for me. I couldn't understand what was going on and not being able picture anything was bothering me. Alas. I'm glad I made an attempt at something different though. Sorry #bookclubhexlibris maybe next time! . . #vscobooks #bibliophile #theswanbook #bookstagram
[·_·[] Obsidio By Kaufman and Kristoff 3/5 stars The conclusion to the Illuminae Files trilogy left me wanting. We meet two new teen heroes who are in love and not much different than the other two sets of teen heroes who are in love. I mentioned in my review of Gemina that the shine from book one had worn off, as book two hit so many of the same beats. Well, book three suffers the same formula, leaving it predictable and dull. Not a single thing surprised or excited me. The death fake outs were especially tiring. The format lost it's appeal too, as some pages were hard to read when the book is a 600 page hardcover. My brief excitement about the series came crashing down, which is unfortunate. While I'm glad I read the series, I won't be keeping my copies when it's time for my next great purge. More thoughts (and a bit more attitude) on my blog. . . #vscoreads #milliebotreviews #bookporn #obsidio #illuminaefiles
[·_·[] won this from librarything recently. I'm a sucker for fairytale retellings. I just hope it's not YA... . . #vscoreads #bookstagram #vscobooks #alltheverafters #danielleteller #booksinthewild

Judging A Book By Its Cover: Obsidio

April 6, 2018Milliebot 5 Comments

This is my weekly post where I highlight beautiful books from my collection. We all judge book covers to some extent – I created this feature to highlight and appreciate the art and design elements of some of the books I own. If covers didn’t matter, publishers wouldn’t put out so many wonderful editions!
